Dear Artist SARAH : Our two barn quilts arrived today in great shape . your parcel post shipping package protected your art work wonderfully . We shall place the Michigan Barn Quilt on the boathouse at Bass Lake soon . Keep up the great work .Bert and LaVonne .
Hi SarahZ - I've never heard of Barn Quilts, but then I live in Scotland - I love them. Where can I find out more about them? Have you ever seen something similar in other countries?
Hi Magghi! Wow! Scotland! Barn quilts are relatively new in the States, so I don't know if they are in other countries, tho I rather doubt it. If you are so inclined, they are a very gratifying project, and I would encourage you to try making one...you may have the first one in the UK! :) I would love to hear about it, if you decide to make one!
Do you use a topcoat to seal your barn quilts? If so, which? I am particularly interested because you use white and many sealers tend to yellow the white paint over time.
This is my barn quilt showcase. I really enjoy making barn quilts and will continue to make them as gifts and for fun, and would encourage anyone to try it for themselves!
I started this blog as a way to promote barn quilts for sale, but am no longer actively selling barn quilts. I welcome your questions and comments!
I hope what I share here will give others helpful information, ideas and direction as they travel the "barn quilt trail".
